In a small rural
town located exactly half way between Savannah,
Georgia and Augusta, Georgia, about 15 years
ago, Jerry and Melanie purchased their first
Miniature Horses from Charles and Genie
Taylor. They started with
a buckskin stallion and 4 mares. All their
friends and family had never heard of such animals,
but they were accustomed to them breeding
unusual animals. Since 1981, the two of
them had been raising AKC White German Shepherd
dogs for selling purposes. They were extremely
rare at this time and they sold to clients not
only regionally, but also in New Jersey,
California, and even Central America. After
about 13 years they decided
to stop with the
dogs and concentrate their efforts on breeding
and selling the top of the line Miniature
Horses. Jerry decided to retire, and manage
their herd and their 300 acre farm operation
while Melanie continued teaching 8th Grade
Georgia History.
Well, what is a miniature horse and what do you do with them?
Lots of people that have physically been unable
to enjoy riding the larger horses just fall in
love with the minis. Many people show the
wonderful, easily trained horses in most of the
competitive miniature horse shows just like the
big horses. They are very easily trained to
drive carts; entertain children and the elderly
and compete in a competitive and fun activity
called the "Liberty". In Florida and in other
states they actually race these wonderful
little creatures.
Our horses are raised with the utmost of love and care. We provide
the best health care available and we also
imprint out babies as soon as they have had
their first colostrum and bodily functions.
Along with quality miniatures we sell for show
purposes, driving, and racing, we do from time
to time have some to sell that are pet quality.
Please contact us for a visit or simply to talk.
We appreciate all the help from our friends in the business and we
will be glad to help any of our buyers with any
information or guidance they may need. We would
also like to thank all our past customers for
their help and support through the years. Even
though we do not have time to show our horses,
we have made a lot of friends and acquaintances,
that even though we don't get to see very often,
we think of fondly and always wish them the best
of luck in the show ring.
Enjoy our web site and please register in our
guestbook. We look forward to hearing from you.
